This is an opportunity for people that like to support a conservation program and also scuba Dive. Calipso Dive Center and Tayrona National Park in Taganga Colombia are running a midwater marine nursery to recover species of corals around the marine area, control lion fish, educating the local fisherman and monitoring the coral reef. We are looking for volunteers that want to help on the project. The cost of the volunteer program include dives, food and homestay in Taganga and in the field area. Description
The volunteer will:
Help in the control of the lion fish
Monitoring the status of the coral reef in Tayrona National Park
Help in the maintenance of the midwater coral marine nursery in Gayraca Bay
Taking data of coral growth
Help in the cleaning of the Gayraca Beach and underwater cleaning up
Educate the local fisherman about conservation and restauration
Scuba diving almost everyday (almost 40 in a month)
Scuba diving in special places in Tayrona National Park, a unique program for calipso divers
Having camping inside the park without the stress of many people
Helping in the conservation of the Coral ecosystem

1) When are you looking to start this?
2) Would you be willing to take a volunteer for 2 weeks (half of the month)?
3) How many hours a day are you looking for help?
I am very interested. I arrive in Santa Marta on Dec 1st, and could stay until Dec 15th to help out! I am PADI open water certified.
